Oppose the FMCSA Rate Transparency Proposed Rule Dec 5, 2024 We join the TIA in objecting to this unnecessary federal overreach and encourage the freight industry to speak out against it. On November 20, the FMCSA released its Rate Transparency Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM). This NPRM proposes the following provisions: Mandatory electronic record keeping by brokers. Eliminating distinctions between brokerage and non-brokerage services, requiring records for each shipment to include all charges, payments, and related claims. Making it a regulatory requirement for brokers to provide records as opposed to a transactional right of request. Mandatory provision of records within 48 hours of delivery. We stand with the TIA in opposition of this NPRM, and the TIA has asked all freight brokers to raise their voices to oppose this rule. We stand with the TIA in opposition to this NPRM, and the TIA has asked all freight brokers and 3PLs to raise their voices to oppose this rule.
